City of Schweinfurt
The close cooperation of the THWS with the city of Schweinfurt creates synergies for a strategic future development. THWS and city mutually form and enrich each other and thus secure the academic and economic future of the region.
FAST – Franconia Alliance of Science and Technology
THWS is strategically connected in Northwest Bavaria with the universities in Ansbach and Aschaffenburg as well as the Julius Maximilian University in Würzburg via the FAST network. The alliance was founded in order to cooperate closely on mutual topics in the field of science and technology.
Mainfranken
The Mainfranken region is one of ten high tech regions within Europe. Thanks to innovation, knowledge transfer and promising training and development, the THWS gives the region and the local companies a decisive competitive edge. For example, the “Intelligent manufacturing” proclaimed at the THWS is a tailored solution to make the region and their people fit for the future.
Bavarian Ministry for Science and Art
The Free State of Bavaria and the Universities of Applied Science have been practising a cooperative relationship for years. The Free State ensures reliable frameworks for the Universities of Applied Science. Within the framework of the Hightech Agenda a comprehensive revision of the university law amendment further strengthens the individual responsibility of the universities. A generous research budget creates freedom for research for the Universities of Applied Science.
Thanks to their expertise in research and transfer in relevant future-oriented fields such as artificial intelligence or digitization, the universities in return contribute to the innovative capability of Bavaria and thus to its wealth.
Future Code
With the “Future Code for Bavaria“ strategy the Universities of Applied Science are creating a new chapter in Bavaria’s success story.
In nine topics their scientists shape the digital transformation, demographic change and the consequences of climate change. They turn knowledge into action, thus ensuring the success of Bavaria’s future – economically successful, socially responsible, ecologically fair to all generations. The nine areas consist of: B. ROB, B. Motion, B. LIFE, B. SECURE, B. CARE, B. TRANSFER, B. TOP, B. LAB and B. OPEN.
Hightech Agenda
In the context of the Hightech Agenda of the Bavarian state government, the THWS has had the financial resources for teaching staff required for degree courses in the new Robotik/Robotics bachelor’s programme assigned to it. It can therefore start directly in Autumn 2020 with 260 study places.
Through the Hightech Agenda the THWS has furthermore been further professorships – also for mid-level academic positions. This benefits both the Robotics Centre (CERI) in Schweinfurt as well as the Artificial Intelligence masters programme in Würzburg.
